Demi Lovato has come back to her/her pronouns more than a year after coming out as non-binary and embracing they/them pronouns.

Lovato, 29, opened up about re-enacting pronouns during an appearance on Spout Podcast, revealing she decided to come back after recently “feeling more feminine”.

‘I actually adopted her/her pronouns again with me. So for me, I’m such a fluid person that I don’t really find and I’m not… I felt like, especially last year, my energy was balanced and my male and female energy of so that when I was faced with the choice of going into a bathroom and it said, women and men, I didn’t feel like there was a bathroom for me because I didn’t feel not necessarily like a woman,” she explained.

“I didn’t feel like a man. I just felt like a human. And that’s what they’re talking about. For me, it’s pretty much like feeling human deep down.

“Recently, I feel more feminine, so I adopted it again. But I think what’s important is that no one is perfect. Everyone messes up pronouns at some point, and especially when people are learning, it’s just a matter of respect,” she added.

“Over the past year and a half I have been doing healing and self-reflection work, and through this work I have had the revelation that I identify as non-binary.

“That said, I will officially change my pronouns to them/them. I think it best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression and allows me to feel more authentic and true to the person I know and am still discovering.
