Armstrong was an original cast member of RHOBH, starring in the first three seasons from 2010 to 2013. She later returned as a guest on the show in seasons four through six.

Her time on the show was fraught with personal drama as her marriage to Russell Armstrong ended with cameras rolling amid abuse allegations.

The reality star claimed Russell got violent while pregnant with their daughter and said things worsened after Kennedy was born.

In his memoir, Hiding From Reality, Armstrong detailed Russell’s abusive behavior during their marriage, which landed her in hospital after he suspected her of having slept with a Chippendales dancer at Lisa’s daughter’s bachelorette party Vanderpump in Las Vegas.

At the time, tests on his battered eye – the result of Russell’s punch – revealed that 40% of the bone that supports the eye had been fractured and Taylor would need reconstructive surgery involving implants in titanium.

Taylor previously revealed that she wanted to be cast in The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, hoping that Russell would control her temper.

“She’s done the Ultimate Girls Trip so well that it makes sense for her to join Tamra [Judge] on OC,” said a cast member (Amstrong, judge pictured in June)

Russell committed suicide in 2011 shortly after Taylor filed for divorce.

Outside of Housewives, in 2014, Taylor joined season four of the relationship rehab reality series Couples Therapy.

She also found unexpected viral fame when a screenshot of Housewives starring Kyle Richards was used in a now-infamous woman shouting cat meme.

Armstrong will be featured in RHOC Season 17.
